Opened in 1999 Bournes Funeral Service has become well known for delivering a personal and attentive service to grieving families in their time of need. Being an independent and family run funeral service allows us to personally ensure every funeral we undertake is done so to our very own exacting and high standards that we have become known for.

Bournes Funeral Service is run with a dedicated team of staff who have served the company over many years and offer a wealth of knowledge, expertise, and experience.

Richard initially started his work as a funeral director with his parents Martin & Jane Bourne in 1997, he has facilitated the growth of the business into the reputable local service it is, and now wholly owns and runs the company.

Richards's Brother-in-law Ben joined the team in 2010. Achieving both his Diploma in Funeral Administration & Arranging as well as his Diploma in Funeral Directing. Ben is a well known member of the team within our community and is our Principle Funeral Director covering our Sittingbourne and Faversham Funeral Directors.

Our Sittingbourne Office is run jointly by Catherine and Hayley, with a combined 23 years' experience working at Bournes. Their care, kindness, professionalism, and experience will ensure they are personally able to guide you throughout all of the arrangements at what is a very difficult time.
